Psychotherapy and Counselling - Information Overview
“I want to live my life so that my nights are not full of regrets” ~ D.H. Lawrence
When I first embarked on my psychotherapy studies and practical training, I made it my purpose to provide affordable, flexible 50-minute online appointments, and high-quality counselling services to a diverse range of clientele.
Did you know: Recent studies reveal 1 in 4 people are affected by mental health?
This staggering figure in addition to the inflated cost of living, dependence on technology, and the pressure of societal expectations means a greater rise in mental health-related ailments and a growing disconnection from our authentic selves....
I use the following therapeutic interventions:
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Humanistic, Spiritualism, Existentialism, Gestalt, Narrative, Person-Centred, Eastern and Western interventions, and Guided Hypnosis
What exactly is psychotherapy?
In case you are curious, integrative psychotherapy is a talk-based therapeutic model based on the intention to support and invoke personal insight about personal, relational, psychosocial, physical or emotional changes and difficulties.
Contrary to common belief, you do not need to have something “wrong” with you to attend therapy nor will you be judged for what you share during your session!
Many clients I’ve worked with live in remote locations and are isolated from social contact for extended periods of time. As a result, therapy for them is a way of maintaining social connection, and proactively working on themselves by engaging in self reflection and becoming aware of how they respond and experience the world around them.
I also want to reiterate that as your psychotherapist my role is not to judge, berate or tell you what to do with your life. I’m here to offer you unconditional positive regard, attentive listening during sessions, observations and feedback, and genuine emotional support.
I will further support your therapeutic goals by helping you to identify recurring patterns of behaviour, situational, psychological and relational responses and belief systems that may be hindering your full potential, happiness, health, and overall wellbeing.
I have a deep passion for counselling people who are experiencing/living with an illness diagnosis (whether this is the client or a loved one around them) and people experiencing grief and loss and existential related concepts.
